DESCRIPTION:The Zanesville-Muskingum Chamber of Commerce\, the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board\, the Zanesville-Muskingum County Safety Council and MVHRMA are teaming up to host a mental health training for Chamber member businesses on Tuesday\, September 20th at the Welcome Center. This panel discussion will provide businesses with tools and skills needed to have a conversation and think critically about workplace mental health challenges.*This event is eligible for Safety Council attendance credit and CEU credits for Ohio SHRM *\n\nMeet the panel!\n\nA Bonnie Taylor\, Acute Care Services Director \n\nAllwell Behavioral Health Services \n\nTopic: Are You Running on Empty \n\nHaving something left for us to give is important.  The COVID health issue has put extreme stress on the workforce in many ways. We will look at how we can rejuvenate ourselves\, so we have something left to give. This is a physical\, emotional\, and psychological issue. Builds a case for suicide prevention while promoting help-seeking and help-giving. \n\nAustin will also share current programs and initiatives supported by the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation \n\n \n\nMisty Cromwell\, Executive Director \n\nMental Health & Recovery Services Board \n\nTopic: Mental Health First Aid\, Encompass Training\, and the Impact of Stigma \n\n MHFA-Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack\, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge or crisis.  It takes the fear and hesitation out of starting conversations about mental health or substance abuse by improving understanding and providing an action plan that teaches people to identify and address a potential issue safely and responsibly. \n\nEncompass-Training on navigating addiction.  It is a resource for family members who are trying to navigate the complex world of addiction and help loved ones achieve recovery \n\nStigma-Employers and managers play an important role in helping to reduce mental health stigma\, which is a key challenge facing many workplaces.  \n\nAn open and inclusive workplace\, where workers feel safe and supported to seek help early\, is better for everyone.
