The Animals Shelter Society, Inc.,is a private that became incorporated in 1964. The mission of the shelter is to provide care for the homeless animals in the Muskingum County Area. The shelter provides adoption services, low cost spay and neuter services, microchipping, community education, community networking, wellness clinic, library appearances school and assisted living visits. The shelter has three contracted veterinarians along with an Animal Care Manager. All animals that enter the shelter receive medical care, are altered and microchipped before they leave for their forever homes. The shelter is an Adoptable No – Kill shelter therefore, the shelter does not euthanize due for space or length of time an animal remains in the shelter.
The shelter operates as a private non-profit and relies on the support of the community. The shelter receives no government or tax payer funding.
