About Us
Trulight Ministries was founded in 2016 by Rev. Edward and Christina Swartz, husband and wife. Edward is a retired Deputy Sheriff, and they both are licensed ministers. This community outreach was created for the sole purpose of relief to the poor, the distressed, or the underprivileged, lessening neighborhood tensions, combating community deterioration, hunger relief and bringing light to everyone we come into contact with. We will use this page to post our activities and what is going on in this ministry. We hope it inspires you to go out as well and be lights to a dark world.
Our History -They started out with humble beginnings. In 2016 Edward and Christina began prayer walking the Putnam Ave. area once a week with friends. They began talking to the area residents and praying for them. They built a small community while doing these prayer walks. They then began to look for a building to be able to hold services in and came across the 807 Putnam Ave. building. The building was formerly known as Powell?s Market, an old grocery store. They were able to purchase the building with Edward?s retirement money. The building was not up to code, so they were outside in the elements in their parking lot for the first year and a half. Rain, snow, or sleet they never missed a Sunday service. They would be outside faithfully, sharing Jesus, love and food to the area residents.
