Assistant Director of Nursing

Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Nursing will be responsible for assessment and evaluation of clinical services at assigned skilled healthcare facility.  The position will provide consultation services, mentoring functions, and facility clinical oversight to the facility in the areas of resident care, survey/regulatory management, financial outcomes as driven by clinical documentation, and ancillary clinical services.  The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for assisting with driving clinical outcomes, mentoring staff, implementation of clinical policies and procedures/Best Practices, and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.  The position reports to the Director of Nursing.
 

Essential Functions

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English language
  • Must be able to collect, analyze, and manage data in a way that allows data to be used to directly impact clinical services; must be able to mentor others to independently complete same functions
  • Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills, good judgment, and critical thinking skills
  • Must be able to communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team as the leader
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct all systems, policies and procedures for all aspects of the nursing department in accordance with current rules and regulations 
  • Maintain and assist with enforcing policies and procedures/Best Practices that govern the day to day functions of direct care operations
  • Participate in facility surveys/inspections 
  • Perform/assist with Mock Surveys and assist facilities with proper survey preparation
  • Conduct QAPI audits in a proactive manner that assists with issue identification, system stabilization, and system maintenance
  • Assist and oversee proper completion and compliance with Plans of Corrections
  • Actively engage with facility staff, audit, and educate staff at facility
 

Skills/Abilities

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing w/commensurate RN Licensure in the state of facility(s) location(s)
  • Proven successful SNF survey track record
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office, PointClickCare, CMS Site management
  • Minimum of 1-2 years administrative experience in skilled nursing facility(s) preferred
  • Detail and Deadline oriented
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to communicate accountability 
  • Excellent Follow Up Skills
             

Certificates and Licenses

  • Valid current, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the state where the assigned facility(s) are located
  • Must have CPR certification and CPR certification must remain current during employment
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance coverage
